Diary Manager v1.1 What is it? Diary Manager is a macro to enable dated or undated diary entries to be written quickly to the Agenda. I wrote this macro because whenever I have to make a diary entry I didn't like having to go to Agenda, then having to go back to the application I was using. This macro enables you to write your Diary entry from wherever you are in the Psion & remain in the same place after the entry is written. NOTE: for users of a German machine there is an option to select the Psion type. Installation The Zip file contains 2 files. Diary.mco is the macro & Agenda.hlp is the on-line help file. (NOTE: this help file is the same help file as ToDo Manager & therefore only needs to be installed once) To run this macro you must have the Macro application by Tom Dolbilin running. Copy the appropriate .mco to your \macro\mco directory, on any drive, & install the macro, in the normal way, assigning it a HotKey. If you want on line help create a macro\mco\agenda\ directory on your M drive & copy the agenda.hlp file to this directory. When you first use the Macro you will be asked to select 1. the default Agenda file where the Diary entries will be written 2. the date format you are using. 3. the view that you wish to leave Agenda in. (only applies if Agenda left running) 4. Whether the entries should be timed or untimed. 5. the time format.(this must be the same as set in the Time Format settings for the Psion) 6. The Prompt on Entry key you are using i.e.. "Enter" or "Psion Enter". (this must be the same as set in the General Preferences settings for Agenda) 7. Title Bar Display i.e. Black, Grey, Clear. 8. Whether you wish to see the macro operation or keep it hidden. 9. The agenda view time. 10. Whether the Psion is English or German. NOTE: selection of the wrong type will result in the macro malfunctioning with unpredictable results. These will be stored in a diary**.cfg file on the M drive in the \macro\mco\agenda\ directory. Running Instructions Whenever you want to write a Diary entry use the HotKey, enter the Diary entry, the date, the time & duration if applicable & press Enter. The macro will write the Diary entry in your Agenda & return you to where you were. Using ESC at the entry screen will display a menu with a number of options. 1. Set Preferences: If you wish to change any of the preferences select "Set Preferences" & enter new preferences. The previously entered preferences will be shown as the default settings. The new preferences will operate from the next Diary Entry. 2. View Agenda: This option will request a date to view & will switch to the Agenda to allow you to see the entries for the selected day. The length of time the agenda can be viewed before it returns automatically to the diary entry can be set in the "Set Preferences". 3. Write Entry: this will return you to the Entry Screen. 4. Bring Entry: If you want to bring text from another application that supports the "bring" function mark the text to bring in that function & run the macro. Select "Bring Entry" & Enter. The macro will return you to the Entry screen & the selected text will then be displayed in the "Diary Entry" line. 5. Toggle........ This allows a temporary change of the timed/untimed setting held in the preferences. When the macro is run again it will revert to the preference setting. 6. About: this option gives information about the macro & also help. 7. Exit: Exit without writing an Entry. The date selection works in the normal way & TAB will access the calendar.
